Magic! That was what I felt when the next request from Postdata Ediciones fell to me. The author, María Gallardo, explains to me that her fate for the book was to reflect the ambiguity of being, its deepest emotions, the freedom of oneself and our own drowning. For this reason, I wanted to represent with the illustration our own torment but also our own peace, that clear and diffuse symbiosis that lives within us. I first made a graphite base, to create the whole woman’s ensemble, and later to attribute only color around it, to what happens around us when the sea of feelings intoxicates and moves us. It is the most agonizing but also peaceful representation; how our life sometimes passes by while we stand by, ready to act, or on the contrary, let go. Therefore, the contrast of color and the graphics of black, build a work that integrates the union of the darker and lighter sides of our being.

¡Magia! Eso fue lo que sentí cuando el siguiente encargo de Postdata Ediciones recayó en mí. La autora, María Gallardo, me explicó que su sino para con el libro era el de relfejar la ambiguedad del ser, sus emociones más profundas, la libertad de uno mismo y nuestro propio ahogamiento. Por ello, quise representar con la ilustración nuestro propio tormento pero también nuestra propia paz, esa simbiosis clara y difusa que vive dentro de nosotros. Realicé primero una base de grafito, para crear todo el conjunto de la mujer, para después atribuirle sólo color alrededor, a lo que pasa a nuestro alrededor cuando el mar de sentimientos nos embriaga y mueve. Es la representación más agónica pero también pacífica; cómo nuestra vida pasa a veces de largo mientras nosotros permanecemos a la espectativa, listos para actuar, o por el contrario, dejarnos ir. Por ello, el contraste de color y el grafismo del negro, construyen una obra que integra la unión de los lados más oscuros y más claros de nuestro ser.
