Las niñas salvajes que fuimos, Postdata Ediciones, 2021. Graphite, watercolor and digital work.
Happiness never ceases to amaze. It hides, for example, when I was commissioned to make this cover for the publishing house with which I commonly collaborate, Postdata Ediciones. The author and editor wanted to reflect the sweetness and tenderness, the innocence and purity, but also the savagery, the liberation and the dark touch of it all. For this reason, I wanted to represent everything through a girl who reflects all those emotions together, through her fraternal embrace of the lamb, that so many secrets, metaphors and symbols await. It is a compendium of blacks and whites, freckles and dead roses, which enhance the hidden beauty of the work and its visual magnetism. I did the illustration with watercolor almost entirely to finally add details and digital touch-ups, to once again enhance the natural curve of the hand, the intrinsic beauty and human error.
